Description

The First National Open Door Symposium, held on 26 November 2024 at The Studio, Bedford Park Campus, Flinders University, Adelaide, and online, brought together postgraduate researchers from across Australia to showcase their latest research on veteran-related issues.

This free, one-day event highlighted innovative studies addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by veterans transitioning to higher education and civilian life. The program featured a keynote address by Professor Ben Wadham and a series of presentations exploring critical themes, including health and well-being, advocacy, reintegration, and identity formation post-service.

The symposium fostered a collaborative environment for sharing research insights, engaging with academic and professional audiences, and enhancing understanding of the support systems needed to improve outcomes for the veteran community.
