Fifth workshop of the midwifery science network “Maieutic Endeavours - Theorizing Midwifery Practices” funded by the German Research Foundation, entitled "Which health, whose lives? Knowing and deciding in midwifery practice”. In this meeting the moral, epistemological, and political challenges of knowing and making decisions in midwifery care and research practices are analyzed in philosophical, midwifery specific, medical anthropological, sociological, and historical terms.
