    This talk will be in two parts. In the second section, I will discuss the Austen family music collections, particularly the music manuscripts in Jane Austen’s hand, and give you some idea of the music that she played and sang. But firstly I will talk about the way Austen uses music and musicianship in her most famous novel, Pride and Prejudice - how it illuminates but does not define her characters.
