Critically Creative Reading and Writing Collective (CCRWC)

Description

Kendrea Rhodes ran a two hour workshop at the UniSA Magill campus that involved a brief look Mad Studies, its history and praxis, with a creative writing activity following.

The first hour focused on the critical theory of Mad Studies as a framework. Participants were asked for their top one-three themes that stood out in the readings from Vol.1/1 of the International Mad Studies Journal: https://imsj.org/ (2023). Kendrea took participants through her own research, Mad Studies praxis and creative practice, presenting four of her original creative research works (see https://creativematters.edu.au/literally-in/ and KendreArt.com). The second hour was based around Madness-themed and prompted-poetry exercises.
