Date: 31 March 2025Duration: 10-minute presentation + networking and discussion
Location: SAHMRI Auditorium, North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000
Organiser: Health Translation SA (HTSA) Implementation Science Network
Description:
Dr Maria Alejandra Pinero de Plaza presented as part of the HTSA Implementation Science Network Forum, under the theme Implementation Science in Action. Her talk titled "Human-centred AI for Emergency Cardiac Care: Evaluating RAPIDx AI with PROLIFERATE_AI" introduced a nationally recognized evaluation framework designed to assess the effectiveness, equity, and system readiness of AI in health settings.
The presentation illustrated how PROLIFERATE_AI was applied in the RAPIDx AI project across 12 South Australian hospitals, focusing on user-centred design, real-time feedback loops, and ethical implementation. The forum brought together leaders from across research, academia, and policy—including representatives from JBI, Flinders University, SAHMRI, UniSA, and the University of Adelaide—to showcase and advance impactful implementation projects.
Contribution:
Presenter (10-minute invited talk)
Shared implementation findings from PROLIFERATE_AI research (DOI: 10.1016/j.ijmedinf.2025.105810)
Facilitated discussion on scalability and equity in AI-driven health interventions
Impact:
This activity contributed to real-world knowledge exchange, peer engagement, and strategic visibility of implementation science innovations led by the Caring Futures Institute. It highlighted the role of ethical, human-centred AI evaluation in emergency health systems.
