Description

IAG is the principal body representing geographers and promoting the study and application of geography in Australia. The national role of President entails strategic leadership; governance and constitutional reform; discipline promotion; membership services, including support for postgraduate student members; management of professional publications and internal communications; and oversight of annual conferences, study groups, awards, and Institute finances.

I served 13+ years in voluntary leadership roles with IAG: as Councillor (1995-1998); Secretary (1998-2001): Vice-President [elect] (2008-2012); and Vice-President [immediate past President] from 2012-2014.
