This second Session in the Virtual International Colloquium Series on the topic of “Justice Involved Veterans” continues the discussion that commenced in Session 1 on the 1st of December (AUS) which is exploring the experiences of Veterans who are Offenders and also those who are Police Officers or Correctional Officers across the 5 Eyes Countries.

In Session 2, Rachel Leota the National Commissioner and Ange Coyle the Manager Youth from Ara Poutama Aoteaora – New Zealand Department of Corrections will be sharing insights from NZ Correction’s research and support program “Supporting our Veterans”. They will be joined in the session by Dr Ben Wadham the Director of Open Door: the Australian and New Zealand Veteran, Public Safety and Families Transition, Integration, Wellbeing Research Initiative who will be sharing insights from Open Door’s current Australian Study on Risk factors for ex-serving defence personnel to enter corrective services system.
