'With the vision of upgrading the Australian health care system beyond physical attendance limitations, Dr Maria Alejandra Pinero de Plaza is developing a program of research to create technological health solutions intended at empowering consumers, integrating care, and creating more effective health and wellbeing services for Frail, Homebound and Bedridden Australians. This will improve health outcomes for them, reducing long-term cost for the nation, e.g. reducing hospitalisations, hospital stay-time and other associated expenses for taxpayers.
Presented by: Dr Maria Alejandra Pinero de Plaza a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in a joint position with Flinders University and The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) - Centre of Research Excellence in Frailty and Healthy Ageing.
