Innovations in the fields of economics, education, and communication have been showing impacts, both in the form of increased enlightenment and disruption to society and the environment. The progress of society 5.0 has also endangered the environment and thus requires a sustainable smart society in economics, education, and environmentally friendly communication (green smart society). The International Conference on Islamic Studies in The Digital Era, abbreviated and hereinafter called ‘ICISDE’, is an annual conference held by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). ICISDE, by definition, is a conference that invites academics, policy makers, and entrepreneurs to discuss sophisticated discourse regarding intelligent societies in education, economics, and communications that are in accordance with Islamic values for the benefit of the environment. ICISDE consists of two schemes: call for papers and research symposium. This year ICISDE 2024 raised the main topic ‘Refining the Values of Islamic Studies and Innovation in a Sustainable Era.
