Research Biography

Alec Morley retired from full university duties in 2004.   He now works part-time and leads a research group which is investigating the application of molecular genetics to medical, particularly haematological, disorders.   The most active area of research activity is the development and application of molecular methods for measurement of minimal residual disease in haematological cancers, but the group is also involved in the development of several other new molecular diagnostic techniques.

Professor Morley is also involved in the commercialisation of potentially useful items of intellectual property which have resulted from the research activities of the group
