Research Biography

I am an Early Career Researcher with a background in psychology and public health. My research predominantly evaluates health services and implementation of interventions to improve health. With a broad range of experiences related to perinatal, gastroenterological, and mental health research, I am particularly interested in the ways health systems support health-related behaviors and help-seeking; especially for groups who face additional barriers to engaging with healthcare, such as people with refugee backgrounds or experiences of trauma.

I recently completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine (Psychology) under the supervision of A/Prof Clemence Due (University of Adelaide) and Prof Anna Ziersch (Flinders University). My PhD research focused on psychological wellbeing and health service engagement for families from the Middle East in the First 1000 Days (from conception to two years post-birth).

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Caring Futures Institute at Flinders University. Previously, I have been employed as a researcher in the University of Adelaide Schools of Nursing and Psychology, and in the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (CAMHS) within SA Health. I also have extensive teaching experience in undergraduate psychology and public health courses within the University of Adelaide.
