Research Biography
Completed a clinical practice PhD in 2024. As a senior cardiac nurse, I studied how a nurse attending the cardiac ward round affects patient outcomes in the cardiac care unit at Flinders Medical Centre. Promoting a culture of trust and respect between nurses and doctors where situational awareness exists and nursing surveillance skills are acknowledged improves the timely delivery of patient care. The thesis title is; How to build excellence in cardiology: Nurses On the Ward round (NOW).
