Research Biography
Bronwin Patrickson is an experienced Digital Design Researcher with broad ranging creative practice expertise in digital design for AI and emerging technologies, including user experience design. Her expertise is enriched by her complementary background in communication and digital culture studies.
Dr. Patrickson also has extensive experience working with industry and across cultures. Prior to her academic career Bronwin was an accomplished (ex ABC) producer. Her interactive design expertise spans data sharing technologies, enhanced media, networking and engagement. She has certified skills in Prince2/Agile R&D management.
Qualifications
Bronwin's expertise in digital environments extends to humanist interaction design, and storytelling. After making documentaries and features for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Bronwin gained a Ph.D. in interactive media design from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. She has since designed a gamified essay writing helper application, an AI tree chatbot, a collaborative AI poetry postcard, proposed creative data-sharing innovations in Scotland, and documented the Wallace & Gromit Big Fix Up storytelling innovation Audience of the Future project.
Honours, awards and grants
Bronwin is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was the 2020 recipient of the IAMCR Climate Communication Award.
She has been co-editing the open access Digital Culture & Education Journal since 2018
