Research Biography

Cassandra is a Lecturer in Optometry, Topic Coordinating the Master's subject "Optometry 1"; which has Paediatric, research and Contact Lens content. She supervises at the Flinders Health2GO clinic; which is open to staff, students and the public for eye examinations. 

Cassandra is conducting a PhD in Children's Vision Screening, developing an evidence-based screening protocol for detecting childhood visual disorders through the Children's Eye Screening SA (CESSA) program. 

Outside of Flinders University she works for Optometry Australia as the South Australian Optometry Lead for Optometry Australia, supporting and representing SA in stakeholder groups and in national policy and advocacy. Cassandra is also set to retire from her six year position on the board of Optometry Vic/SA end of 2023.
