Research Biography

I teach within Exercise Science/Clinical Exercise Physiology and passionate about the idea that Exercise is Medicine. I research in a number of areas such as physical activity and exercise and sports science. My current research is investigating adolescent girls disengagment with physical activity. I am also working with athletes conduting a range of max and sub-max fitness tests and metabolic measurements testing fitness levels. I have strong ties with Surf Life-Saving SA and their High Performance Surf Sport program. I conduct nutrition workshops for primary school children; challenging the model of intergenerational health. I continue to have a strong research link with school canteens. I teach in a variety of areas which provides students with the skills necessary to work within a multidisciplinary environment. I am a member of Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and have a number of Athletics Australia, SLSSA and ASCA accredited coaching levels.
