Personal profile

Research Biography

I am a social researcher who is passionate about health and wellbeing related social and cultural research. I am committed to social change and social inclusion, and I have long had an interest in understanding and improving the lives of those who are negatively impacted by social, health, political and economic circumstances. This is demonstrated by my commitment to conducting ethically focused research aimed at improving the lives of others, including my PhD project working with women with eating and body issues who are resistant to seek help; my Honours thesis examining the gendered nature of domestic violence policy in Australia; and my current position at the Southgate Institute working across a range of issues to do with health equity and the social determinants of health.
