Research Biography

Derek Dalton is an Associate Professor in the College of Business, Government and Law.  Prior to coming to Flinders, he lectured in Criminal Justice at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst.  In addition to teaching his upper level electives "Crime, Law and Trauma" and "Encountering Crime" [a topic which explores how students "consume" crime through popular culture] he supervises both honours and doctoral students. His research interests cluster around dark tourism and the memorialisation of the holocaust; sexuality and crime; and representations of crime in popular culture.
