Research Interests
Edwin has a background as a legal practitioner, having spent the better part of his career as a practitioner focusing on the wider aspects of business and commercial law in the different jurisdictions where he has practiced. He spent the seven years before joining Flinders University in lecturing roles at different universities. These roles were mainly focused in the area of business and corporate law. He has also been involved in lecturing roles relating to technology, fraud and financial crime, where the key fraud and financial crime threats and opportunities that are presented by the affordances of technology were generally examined and also looked at the role of Financial Technology (FinTech) and big data in the prevention of fraud and financial crime.
Apart from his ongoing interest in business and commercial law, Edwin has a particular interest in the Regulation of mobile financial services and the nexus between technology and law.
