Research Biography
Eleanor Watson is a Lecturer in Disability and Community Inclusion at Flinders University. Eleanor's research investigates communication access in mental health care, prioritising the lived-experiences of people who can not rely on speech to meet daily communication requirements.
Prior to working at Flinders University Eleanor was employed in the disability, arts and human services sectors. Most recently, practicing as a Developmental Educator working with people with disabilities and co-existing mental health problems. It was during this time that Eleanor noted the challenges facing people with communication difficulties in accessing effective support to manage and maintain optimum mental health and wellbeing.
