Research Biography
Dr Eliza Kitchen, PhD.
Dr. Eliza Kitchen is a Senior Lecturer, specialising in Event Management and Tourism, within the College of Business, Government & Law. Her research focuses on the social impacts of events and tourism, particularly how they influence identity, place attachment, and community connectedness. Her work explores how festivals and events can foster social inclusion, reduce loneliness, and enhance wellbeing—especially in the context of both face-to-face and virtual experiences.
Her scholarship of learning and teaching research focuses on skill development, students as partners, and authentic learning, contributing to curriculum design that prepares tourism, hospitality, and event management graduates to be industry-ready.
