Research Biography

Emmanuel is a health and human service researcher with research interests in epidemiology, health economics, administrative and electronic health record data and other linked data and data science. He is a data manager and analyst with the Clinical Outcomes and Health Systems group, Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute based in SALHN, SA Health where he is part of a team developing innovative data systems for clinical care, quality and research. He is also a post-doctoral research fellow at the Australian Centre for Precision Health in UniSA investigating the health, social and economic consequences of child abuse and neglect. 

Emmanuel is an accredited social worker (MSW 2002) with post-graduate training in public health at University of Sheffield and University of Copenhagen (Double MPH 2010) and University of Adelaide (PhD 2016). His health and human services research spans, maternal and neonatal health, oral health, dementia and aged care and currently, clinical care and child protection.

Emmanuel has worked across all three universities in South Australia and SA Health, consequently having established collaborations across the health and social research sector in South Australia and beyond. In his career he has received the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for his MPH and won a Deans Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence for his PhD.
