Personal profile

Research Biography

Based at Flinders University and SAHMRI, my research harnesses the power of large-scale molecular data to understand the hidden forces that shape human health, from the gut bacteria that prime a newborn’s immune system, to the molecular drivers of chronic diseases such as long COVID.

I have co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in the world’s top scientific journals including Nature and Science, accumulating more than 6,000 citations globally. Recognised on the Stanford/Elsevier list of the world’s top 2% of scientists, my discoveries have sparked clinical trials and have been cited in health policy guidelines issued by governments and health authorities across the UK, US, Germany, the European Union, and the World Health Organisation.
