Dr Felise Adams completed her Honours degree of Bachelor of Science (First Class) majoring in microbiology at Flinders University in 2012. During these studies she received multiple awards including the Flinders University Medal, Max Clark Prize in Science and Engineering and School of Biological Sciences Honours Scholarship. In 2013, Felise took up a NHMRC grant funded position as a research assistant in the laboratory led by Professor Melissa Brown at Flinders University. In the following year she commenced her PhD at Flinders University, investigating the role of regulatory proteins and mobile genetic elements in the success of Acinetobacter baumannii, a significant human pathogen. In addition to receiving an Australian Postgraduate Award, Felise was the recipient of AJ & IM Naylon and Playford Trust Top-Up Ph.D. scholarships. In 2019, Felise took up a Research Associate position at the University of Adelaide with Dr Bart Eijkelkamp, extending her research skills in A. baumannii virulence and physiology. Felise is continuing her Post-Doctoral research role within the laboratory led by Dr Eijkelkamp at Flinders University.
