Research Biography

Dr Fiona Crawford-Williams is Deputy Lead of the Cancer Survivorship Program at the Caring Futures Institute in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is an Adjunct Clinical Fellow at Queensland University of Technology. She has been a full-time researcher since completing her PhD (Public Health) in 2016. 

Dr Crawford-Williams has previously held post-doctoral research fellowships at the University of Southern Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. She has also been an external collaborator with Cancer Council Queensland since 2017, within the Health Systems and Behavioural Research team. As an early-career researcher Dr Crawford-Williams has published over 42 journal articles and presented at both national and international conferences. 

Dr Crawford-Williams was awarded the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Survivorship Group inaugural Research Fellowship opportunity in 2020. She is also an active member of the Psycho-Oncology Co-Operative Research Group (PoCoG) and Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA). In 2022, Dr Crawford-Williams participated in the Deeble Institute for Health Policy Research Scholarship Program with the Australian Healthcare & Hospitals Association. 

 

Research Interests

Dr Fiona Crawford-Williams has expertise in the field of Health Services Research, Health Policy and Psycho-Oncology and her main research interests are in the survivorship care needs of patients diagnosed with cancer living in rural and regional areas. Other areas of research interest include the effectiveness of health service interventions and implementing novel models of cancer care.
