George Crowder is an internationally recognised authority on the work of the British political philosopher Isaiah Berlin and on the concept of value pluralism and its political implications. His books include Classical Anarchism (1991), Liberalism and Value Pluralism (2002), Isaiah Berlin: Liberty and Pluralism (2004), The One and the Many: Reading Isaiah Berlin (co-edited with Henry Hardy, 2007), and Theories of Multiculturalism: An Introduction (2013). His most recent book is The Problem of Value Pluralism: Isaiah Berlin and Beyond (2020).
In addition to Berlin and value pluralism, Prof. Crowder has related interests in the history of political thought and in contemporary political theory, in particular liberalism and its critics and theories of multiculturalism and of distributive justice.
