Research Biography

Prof. Goran Strkalj obrained his PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 1996. He worked as an academic at the University of the Witwatersrand, Macquarie University, University of New South Wales and as a Reserach Associate in the Wellcome Trust Centre for The History of Medicine and UCL and Institute of Ethnography, Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Prof. Strkalj's main research intersts are in anatomy/medical education, history of science and human biological variation. He published widely in the leading education, anatomy and anthropology journals and authored or co-authored several monographs and edited volumes, including Teaching Human Variation: Issues, Trends and Challenges (New York, 2010), Humanistic Anatomy: A New Program for an Old Discipline (New York, 2016) and Commemoration and Memorials: Exploring the Human Face of Anatomy (with Nalini Pather, Singapore, 2017).
