I am a Research Fellow in the Health Economics and Health Services Research Group in the College of Medicine and Public Health. I have worked in Health Services Research since 2009, undertaking qualitative, quantitative and economic analyses of health care data, across primary care, hospital and aged care settings. My work has included the analysis of hospital, general practice, Medicare and survey data; expert elicitation; literature reviews including pragmatic and scoping reviews; and working with local stakeholders and clinical working groups.

I have worked on a projects that:

• Investigated ways to incorporate economic evaluation into the decision making processes for local health services (such as SALHN), with projects focussed on reducing the occurrence of hospital-acquired complications (HACs) such as hypoglycaemia and urinary tract infections.
• Examined the methods used in cost-effectiveness analyses of new pharmaceuticals for the treatment of metastatic cancer, specifically looking at the models used to predict survival beyond the follow up times observed in clinical trials.
• Coordinated a pilot study of the Counterweight Program, which examined the feasibility and acceptability of the Counterweight weight management program to Australian general practices and patients. The project used qualitative methods to explore the experiences of general practice staff and patients with the program, and collected quantitative data on patient's weight outcomes.
• Coordinated the Primary Care Services Improvement Project (PCSIP) which examined the cost-effectiveness of involving practice nurses in the management of patients with obesity, diabetes or depression within general practice. This observational study linked data from patient’s general practice medical records with administrative data (MBS, PBS and SA Health) to evaluate patient’s health outcomes and use of health services.
