Research Biography

My current research investigates the accuracy and precision of orbital position measurements and modelling for Space Situational Awareness applications. I have a background in atmospheric and radar physics, specialising in the radar detection of meteor trails, plasma dynamics and chemistry of the upper atmosphere, radio wave propagation, and radar observations of atmospheric processes. I have worked in academia, private industry, and defense with a variety of domestic and international partners across a range of topics including:

  • radar detection of meteor trails
  • radar interferometry and antenna array design
  • atmospheric structure and dynamics
  • atmospheric entry physics
  • measurement techniques for density, temperature, and winds in the middle/upper atmosphere
  • ionospheric physics
  • meteor orbit determination
  • radar imaging techniques
  • over-the-horizon radar
  • satellite navigation (GNSS) error analysis and modelling

I have taught courses on Classical Physics at the undergraduate level and Atmospheric Physics at the postgraduate level.
