Research Expertise

John has worked in commercial and academic archaeology for 15 years and is a scientific diver and expert on digital 3D techniques for maritime archaeology. He has published widely on research in Scotland, the Netherlands, Israel and Western Australia. His doctoral thesis focussed on investigation of new avenues of research made possible by digital surveys of shipwrecks, includng the creation of digital 3D libraries for historic vessels, and on new modes of research dissemination and engagement, includng virtual dive experiences.
