Dr Kate Ridley is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. Kate's research focusses on children’s energy expenditure, physical activity, sedentary behaviour and associated health outcomes. Kate has a strong interest in physical activity measurement issues. She is a co-author of the Compendium of Physical Activities for Youth (available here: https://www.nccor.org/nccor-tools/youthcompendium/) and co-developed the validated Multimedia Activity Recall for Children and Adults (MARCA) to measure physical activity levels and use of time. Kate teaches both undergraduate and post-graduate topics in topics related to physical activity and health, and exercise science. Kate supervisers both Honours and PhD students and is a member of the Sport, Health, Activity, Performance and Exercise (SHAPE) research centre.
