Research Biography

Louisa is the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Human Nutrition and the Bachelor of Human Nutrition/Bachelor Exercise Science combined degree and teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition and dietetic programs. Louisa comes to the University with over 20 years of experience as a Community Nutritionist-Dietitian in the Adelaide southern metropolitan area, working with families, children and the services who support them. Known for her leadership and expertise in food policy, project management, primary prevention and early intervention using collaborative approaches, Louisa has worked in various roles including Chief Dietitian, project-manager of state-wide multi-strategy nutrition initiatives, food services, private practice and the lead for inter-disciplinary chronic disease teams. Her interests include increasing the capacity of organisations and communities to 'make healthier food choices easier choices', early childhood nutrition and working with students. Research interests include the translation of knowledge into practice, particularly early childhood nutrition and evidence-based programs and policy.
