Dr Lucia Pinilla (Biotechnologist, PhD) currently serves as a Research Associate at the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI): Sleep Health. Her research is focused on the identification of novel biomarkers and biometrics to enhance the biological characterization and clinical management of obstructive sleep apnea. Embarking on her first year as a postdoctoral researcher, Dr Pinilla has authored 20 publications (7 as first author) and contributed to 2 book chapters. She has received numerous accolades, including recognition for delivering outstanding oral presentations at various forums, and multiple sponsorship awards from esteemed organizations, such as the European Respiratory Society and the American Thoracic Society.
