I am a Research Associate working in the Blackbird Initiative Lab, currently investigating self-harm and suicide prevention strategies in children and young people. My broader research portfolio includes projects targeting the prevention and early intervention of mental health concerns in this demographic, particularly disordered eating. I am also a clinical psychologist working in private practice supporting children, adolescents (4-18yo) and their families. I am passionate about advancing early intervention strategies and improving help-seeking behaviours among children and adolescents with mental health concerns, with a particular interest in disordered eating, weight and shape concerns.
My completed PhD, supervised by Professor Tracey Wade, focused on early intervention in eating disorders. My research explored barriers to help-seeking and evaluated the effectiveness of the emerge-ED early intervention strategy in primary health care. My PhD research has been published in several reputable peer-reviewed journals and I have spoken at domestic and international conferences.
