Personal profile

Research Interests

My areas of research interest are cognitive ageing, longevity, and psychosocial wellbeing.
Understanding how these can be maintained or enhanced through behavioural means, to culminate in successful aging at an individual and societal level, is the overriding goal. Within the Cognitive Ageing Laboratory, research focuses on normal age-related memory changes. We've used time sampling techniques to understand how very old adults spend their days, and the interdependencies of health, cognition, interpersonal relationships and affect. The Australian Longitudinal Study of Ageing provides the basis for much of my current research efforts.
