Research Biography

Michael Gilding is Vice President and Executive Dean in the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University.

Michael is an economic sociologist whose current research interests include biotechnology networks and clusters, creation of new markets, and family business governance and succession. He is the author of more than 60 research outputs, including articles in Research Policy, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Family Business Review, and British Journal of Sociology.

Michael is a former President of The Australian Sociological Association (2007-2010), and currently serves on the National Education Advisory Committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
