Research Biography

I completed my undergraduate studies at Adelaide University,  and a Ph.D in the Dept of Surgery, Flinders University. In 2005 I was appointed as Director of Research, Functional Autoantibodies, in the Dept of Immunology, Flinders University. I am currently coordinator of the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences/MD Double Degree, and teach Immunology topics within the Bachelor of Medical Science and MD programs at Flinders University. I also supervise a research team investigating various aspects of autoimmune diseases, including Type 1 Diabetes, Narcolepsy and Sjogren's syndrome.

Research Interests

Autoimmunity - Including the production and pathogenicity of autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases including Lupus, Type 1 Diabetes and Narcolepsy

Autoimmunity - Novel treatment strategy testing in autoimmune prone animal models of Type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis and arthritis
