Research Biography

Miia is an occupational therapist and research associate with Flinders University. She operates from the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division.

Miia has experience in research with older people and people with cognitive impairment, specifically dementia. Miia is experienced with social science research methods, she has worked for multiple observational and other research studies, and completed economic evaluations of programs for people with dementia. Miia recently evaluated the implementation of an evidence based reablement program for people with dementia in Australia, assessing outcomes related to feasibility, acceptability, uptake, costs, service delivery, and client satisfaction.

Prior to working in aged care, Miia held a clinican role in youth mental health and conducted research with young people.
