Research Biography

Professor Paddy Phillips is Chief Medical Officer for South Australia. He was previously Professor and Head of Medicine, Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital in Adelaide, Chair of the South Australian Clinical Senate and inaugural Chair of the South Australian Statewide Clinical Network in Cardiology and has been a member or chair of a number of national committees including for the NHMRC, Australian Government, RACP and Heart Foundation and is the overall clinical lead for the implementation for the South Australian electronic health record (EPAS). He has also held senior clinical academic posts at the University of Melbourne followed by Oxford University and is Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Duke University, USA. His interests are in building a better health system through innovation, collaboration and leadership. He remains clinically active in Acute General Medicine.
