Putu Desi Anggerina Hikmaharyanti

Desi is a PhD candidate in the College of Human Sciences and Culture at Flinders University. Her research investigates the cognitive dimensions of interpreting, with a particular focus on how bilinguals manage cognitive load during simultaneous interpreting. She is especially interested in the role of working memory capacity in shaping interpreter performance. Alongside her doctoral research, Desi brings extensive professional experience as a freelance translator and interpreter across government, education, and corporate sectors. She is committed to advancing understanding of the cognitive mechanisms that underpin interpreting and to contributing to evidence‑based pedagogies that support interpreter performance, training, and well‑being.
