Research Biography

Raechel Damarell is a Research Associate with the Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying (RePaDD) in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is currently engaged in evidence syntheses for the ACSQHC and the new Aged Care Centre for Growth and Translational Research. This work involves exploring the evidence on end-of-life care for people within the community setting and best practice evidence for providing care to people living with dementia. Her own research interests include general practitioner care of people with multimorbidity and a life-limiting illness and the quality and relevance of  the clinical practice guideline evidence available to them.  

Raechel is currently a member of the Editorial Board for Progress in Palliative Care as well as a member of the Early Career Researcher Network of Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group (PC4). 

Raechel was previously a health librarian with Flinders University Library, based at the Gus Fraenkel Medical Library, FMC. She has also been employed as a Research Associate with the Australian Knowledge Network in palliative care (CareSearch) and as an Investigator with the specialist research group Flinders Filters. Her bibliometric research work has included major bibliometric projects with Cancer Council Australia, EviQ (Cancer Institute of NSW), the Lowitja Institute, PHCRIS, International Foundation for Integrated Care, and Sexual Health & Family Planning Australia (SH&FPA).
