Dr Santosh Poonnoose is a neurosurgeon (Brain and Spine) and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in the College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University.

Dr Poonnoose is a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at Flinders Medical Centre where he undertakes clinical duties, teaching responsibilities and administrative roles.  He also consults at Flinders Private Hospital and Calvary Adelaide Hospital.

Dr Poonnoose is the Director of the South Australian Neurological Tumour Tissue Bank and Vice Chairman and Chair of the Neurosurgical Research Foundation Scientific Committee.
