Research Biography

Sonia Hines is a Senior Research Fellow with a deep interest in evidence-based practice and research methods education. Formerly from Brisbane, she is now in Alice Springs as the Director of the Mparntwe Centre for Evidence in Health, Flinders University: a JBI Centre of Excellence.

Research Expertise

Sonia's main area of expertise is systematic reviews and evidence syntheses. She is an experienced trainer in JBI systematic review methods and has conducted a wide range of review types including effectiveness (Cochrane and JBI), risk and aetiology, qualitative, mixed-methods, measurement properties (COSMIN), and scoping reviews. She also is deeply involved in rural and remote health research.

Research Interests

Sonia's research interests include: research literacy, research pedagogy, evidence-based healthcare, stroke, postoperative nausea and vomiting, postoperative nursing care, and systematic review methods.
