Personal profile

Research Expertise

I have a broad expertise in the Humanities, but more specifically in Literary and Cultural Studies, especially Australian and Indigenous Australian Cultural Studies. This extends somewhat into Anthropology and Linguistics to the extent that such research employs interdisciplinary method. I have expertise in Aboriginal Literature, Australian Literary Studies, French Cultural Studies, postcolonial theory and cultural theory, including studies in the field of postcolonialism and Indian Ocean area studies, especially Madagascar. Research topics focusing on national identity and Australian studies are equally ones which I can assess. Experimental Humanities, including Latourian approaches, is a new interest, as is Environmental Humanities. I have served on various ARC  committees including the College of Experts.
