Dr Tamara Crittenden is a senior medical scientist and Research Co-ordinator in the SALHN Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Flinders Medical Centre and academic status holder within the College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University. Dr Crittenden obtained her PhD in 2020 which centred on the use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to demonstrate the clinical- and cost-effectiveness of breast reduction surgery in the Australian health care system. Since 2012 Dr Crittenden has been responsible for leading and co-ordinating clinical research activities in over 50 projects across several key areas of the sub-specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The primary focus of these projects is the collection and interpretation of evidence to support continuous improvement activities and in the practice evidence-based medicine to deliver quality clinical management and outcomes for patients. Dr Crittenden has been successful in publishing original research articles in leading peer-reviewed journals and has presented this work at national and international conferences. Dr Crittenden has supervised numerous MD Advanced Studies undergraduate research projects, junior medical doctors, and higher degree research students.
