Research Biography

Dr To is a full-time staff clinical specialist practising in geriatric and palliative medicine at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, South Australia. By the end of 2018 he will complete his Masters of Public Health, focussing on Clinical Research Methods, through Monash University. He is a chief investigator on a 2014 NHMRC grant exploring the role of opiods on exercise-induced dyspnoea and recently led and published an international study on blood transfusions in palliative care patients. He is the chair of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) End-of-Life Steering Committee, and the co-chair of the SALHN Comprensive Care National Standards Committee. He is also a member of the SALHN Clinical Review Committee, SALHN Older Person's Steering Committee and SALHN Challenging Behaviours Committee.

Research Interests

Dr To's research interests include blood transfusions in palliative care, geriatric oncology, health services research and end of life care.
