Personal profile

Research Biography

I am an Australian theatre and cultural studies scholar, with particular interest in the evolution of transgender methods of theatre making and cultural production in Australia; past, present, and future. I am interested as an emerging practitioner in a number of forms including theatre, poetry, and dance, the intersections of practice and research, as well as the contributions each can make to the other. My creative and academic work has been variously published and prized across Australia and included in conferences both local and international.

Research Interests

My academic work is primarily interested in Queer performance and trauma-informed and/or care centred practice. I'm intrigued by how we write and perform ourselves and our trauma as Queer folk and the never-ending wrestling match between performance’s potential for escape, catharsis, future making, and re-traumatisation.
