Research Biography
Dr Vanessa Conn is a researcher at the Alternative Splicing in Human Pathologies Laboratory, Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer. She completed her Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons) at Flinders University in 2001 and her PhD in 2005, thesis titled “Molecular Interactions of Endophytic Actinobacteria in Wheat and Arabidopsis”.
Vanessa’s first post-doctoral position was with the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics, University of Adelaide.
During 2015-2016 Vanessa held a research position at the Laboratoire de Physiologie Cellulaire & Végétale (LPCV). Université Joseph Fourier, CEA Grenoble, France focusing on plant transcription factors and circular RNAs. Since 2016 Vanessa’s work has focused on the role of circular RNAs in human pathologies which she continues to work on.
