Research Biography

Victoria Tang is a medical doctor and researcher within the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI). She completed her undergraduate studies in vision science, before completing her medical degree with distinction in 2022.

During her academic career, Victoria has conducted research in a broad range of areas within ophthalmology, including childhood myopia (Myopia and Visual Development Lab, led by A/Prof Ranjay Chakraborty,) and arboviral infections of the eye (Medical Virology, led by Prof Jill Carr). Through this work, she has developed a foundation in data analysis and translational research, with a focus on integrating experimental findings into real-world insights that can be brought directly into the chairside, clinical setting.

Research Interests

Victoria's current research, conducted within FHMRI Eye and Vision, focuses on improving early detection and prevention of sight-threatening eye diseases such as glaucoma through the use of large-scale clinical and genetic datasets in multivariable risk prediction modelling.
