Research Biography

Dr Wee Ching Pok is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders since May 2013. She was also the Research Higher Degrees Coordinator for Flinders Business from July 2014 to June 2018. Prior to joining Flinders University, she served in a public university in Malaysia. During her time there, she supervised the master, PhD and Doctor of Business Administration students mainly in the area of accounting and corporate finance. She has currently completed supervising 2 Research Higher Degree students exploring the relationship between related party transactions and firm performance, and the sources of competitiveness of SMEs.

While she was at Malaysia, she was also a Research Fellow for 2 years at an accounting research institute, higher institutions' centre of excellence doing research related to compliance costs and benefits of anti-money laundering requirements of banks and Islamic Finance.

Her research interests include corporate finance (debt and dividend policies, mergers and acquisitions, risk management strategies), corporate finance, SMEs and green financing.
