I am a Senior Lecturer in Inclusive Education Futures at the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work (CEPSW), Flinders University. Holding dual PhDs in Linguistics and Speech Pathology, my research primarily investigates the intersections of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) language development and disorders, interprofessional practice (IPP), and early language and literacy policy. My work aims to inform and shape inclusive educational practices that accommodate and celebrate diversity.
I have an extensive background in both theoretical and applied research, bridging the gap between theories and practical applications in inclusive education. My research is particularly focused on how language development varies across different cultural contexts, and how these variations can inform better diagnostic and intervention strategies in multilingual settings. I am deeply committed to collaborative and evidence-based projects that address social inclusion and diversity in education.
I welcome applications from potential PhD and Research Master candidates interested in inclusive education, particularly cognitive-linguistic development, speech-language pathology, IPP and EBP.

As a PhD supervisor, I believe in fostering a collaborative, supportive, and intellectually stimulating environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential. My approach is student-centred, focusing on each candidate’s strengths and research interests while providing the necessary guidance and resources to ensure their academic and professional success.
I encourage open communication and regular feedback, which I consider essential for refining research ideas and maintaining momentum throughout the PhD journey. I also emphasise the importance of interdisciplinary perspectives, particularly in exploring complex issues related to language development and disorder, interprofessional practice, and educational policies.
Technology plays a significant role in my supervisory practices. I advocate for using innovative tools and methods to enhance research, from data analysis to presentation. I aim to equip my students with the skills needed to navigate the evolving landscape of academic research and to contribute meaningfully to their fields.
Ultimately, my goal as a supervisor is to guide my students to become independent, critical thinkers who can confidently lead research projects and make significant contributions to their disciplines.
